EDITING SERVICES

Stewardship of Truth with Excellence

Proofreading

Proofreading is the last editorial task. Proofreaders correct errors overlooked or created during the editing and design phases. Common tasks include ensuring correct punctuation, spelling, grammar, formatting consistency, and verifying references.

Copyediting

Copy editors work with your manuscript in its nearly final form. The goals are to fix all PUGS (punctuation, usage, grammar, and spelling), revise confusing sentences, and identify additional refinements for author consideration.

Substantive Editing

Substantive editors help authors develop their projects from a concept or draft, plan the organization and features of the project, make suggestions about content and presentation, and suggest additional topics.

Book Review

A book review or manuscript critique is a professional evaluation that provides feedback on a book’s content, structure, clarity, and overall effectiveness. It highlights strengths and identifies areas for improvement to help the author refine their work before publication.

Ghostwriting

Ghostwriting is the process of writing content—such as books, blogs, or memoirs—on behalf of someone else, where the credited author is not the actual writer. For self-published or personal use materials, a ghostwriter helps shape ideas, stories, or expertise into polished, readable text while remaining behind the scenes.

Formatting

Following The Chicago Manual of Style, I will prepare your manuscript for submission to a publisher, or if you are self-publishing, ready for your designer or digital publishing.

Editing and writing inherently involve subjective human elements, rendering absolute perfection unattainable. I commit to diligently identifying and addressing potential issues or inaccuracies, but I can’t guarantee a completely flawless final product.
